Patient placed on walkaway status

A state hospital patient allowed to leave town was placed on "walkaway" status after failing to report back.

Leslie Barela, 36, was allowed to travel to Denver but did not return at a scheduled time, according to a press release from the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo.

Barela was admitted to CMHIP for being found not guilty by reason of insanity for assault with a weapon.

He's a Hispanic male with brown hair and green eyes. He stands about 5 feet, 11 inches tall.
